- Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our mind (Rev. Snoop, The Rastafarian Satanic Bible).
In a true Satanism - there are no inequality, no overarching rules, no hegemony and no governance or control.
- There are no prescriptives or normatives, no sets of opinions or ideas to adopt, no coercion or subjugation and no subserviance or subsidiaries.
- There are no holy book or obligatory scriptures, no indoctrination, instilling or thought control and no dogma or doctrines to abide and live by.
- There are no patriarchy or oppression, no racism, discrimination or prejudice and no exclusion or bias other than ethically - mirrowed in individual inviolability, autonomy and freedom.
- No permit, no law, no reign from above (King Satan).
If Satanism as a whole were a collection of dogma and rules it would be no better than the authoritarian patriarchal religions which grounds on prohibitions, injunctions and commandments. Dogmatics is extremely usefull in, say, the army where you need a highly rigid organization, but in a primarily non-authoritarian belief or philosophy like Satanism, rigidity, dogma and rules is a curse because it inhibits the ability to feel and think freely and that stifles progression. We acknowledge that a belief, including Satanism, among other serves a social function, as we will illustrate later, and in order for a group to function, a minimum of rules may be nescessary, but to avoid control they must at least be democratically adopted, if not with an even higher majority.
God is black and she has an exquisite sence of humor!
Practically all religions in the world are in fact patriarchal and thus not egalitarian, some are even misogynistic like Buddhism and Islam and some even mutilate their children by circumcision, which is no secret of course. All have male gods at the top of the hierarchy, are authoritarian and dogmatic, but it comes with the territory, and all are based on outdated ancient moral values mostly not corresponding to contemporary ethics. The one procent, or less, that are not patriarchal, are of newer origin, BUT some still have a male idol and are therefore a little patriarchal too. As freethinkers we believe gendered gods or entities is antiquated and illogical unless they came to be by copulation, and in the spirit of Baphomet we do address Satan as Them or They.
- My life is mine to live how I see fit regardless of the opinions of others (The Church of Rational Satanism).
A satanist is free as a bird to be as, live as and believe whatever suits them best, and as long as they have Satan in the equation, they can logically call themselves a satanist if they like. Any sort of dictation of a satanist's way of being or beliefs is an attemp to rob them of their own free choice.
- If Satanism is based on freedom, then to codify it would be ludicrous (Sinagogue of Satan).
Like in the generel population, the vast majority of satanists are law-abiding citizens of society with a great respect and concern for other living beings, nature and the environment so codifying on satanists' behaviour is superflous. Humans are, as the only animal, a hypersocial race and thus are satanists. And humans are made by evolution with a primarily egalitarian hunter-gatherer mindset who treat others according to reason, and being elitarian and anti-egalitarian, dominating and exploiting weaker individuals is mere but unnatural and disgusting.

Evolution - Chapter One - The True King of The World
Evolution: "I am the one and only true hegemon in the world! All other so-called hegemons are only shallow and pretentious and are at the end of my puppet strings. I create gods, religions and all sort of imaginary figures, they become momentarily real and then I eat them for breakfast. I have kingdoms, empires and states arise and then grind them down again and devour them.

Why religion?
Why does religion persist in the modern world?
Do you hate religion? Well, if you do, I certaintly understand you, but you can not go about hating all the time, it will only give you stress or cancer and it is a waste of energi like hating the wheather is. And what if there were a pedagogic and natural explanation to why religion has emerged and still thrives better than ever in our highly evolved world, would you hate nature then!? As in all other serendipities the answer comes from another place than the obvious:
First off, this book explain that humanity is a hyper-social race and that reason rarely benefits the individual but more so the group they belong to. Secondly, that we justify our beliefs through reason - and this is why most people choose irrational and illogical beliefs; they choose their beliefs on behalf of the group, community or inculcated information.
And we learn among other: - that evolutionary selection pressures exists for 'persuaders' (liars) to emerge and for others to follow them.
- that for the persuaders, it is easier to convince others if they actually believe their own errand (with body language, conviction etc.).
- that reason makes it easier to cooperate, communicate and to live together in groups.
In another book by Mercier, "Not Born Yesterday", we learn more about beliefs in dephts. Relevant is firstly, that if you want to persuade others, you can never persuade everybody, but you can persuade some depending on your abilities and ethical approach relative to your target.
Secondly, a belief is a social function and one reason why people cling on to the old antiquated religions is tradition; they are comfortable with the same as their ancestors believed and this is consolidated on all sorts of levels.
We conclude that religion is an evolutionary technology and a belief is a social function and in the modern world there are more, not only beliefs, but also categories of beliefs to choose from; today beliefs are not only limited to the devine, celestial or preternatural but also sport teams, celebrities and cult leaders, say, who are revered as gods sometimes.
And if you do not feel you belong to the group, you could be drawn to Satanism, and then, maybe, you find something completely else than expected. 😉
- To defy the laws of tradition is a crusade only of the brave (Primus).
